Grasso ha sottolineato come l’Anios sia “oramai una realtà consolidata che svolge da quasi 30 anni un lavoro prezioso e professionale. Proprio in questi giorni la commissione Affari costituzionali del Senato sta esaminando il Disegno di legge n.1151 che pone l’ambizioso e non più procrastinabile obiettivo di individuare gli strumenti necessari per poter rimuovere le barriere che si frappongono tra chi e affetto da disabilità uditiva e gli ambienti della scuola, del lavoro e più in generale della vita sociale”.
Il presidente del Senato ha sottolineato che “un Paese civile non può sopportare che ad alcuni sia negata la legittima ambizione di essere completamente parte della sua comunità in ragione di una forma di disabilità”.
Per Grasso “non si tratta solo di assicurare diritti a chi al momento non può goderne pienamente ma anche di dare modo a ciascuno di coltivare il proprio talento, le proprie aspirazioni, i proprio sogni e contribuire così al benessere generale della collettività.
In questo contesto – ha aggiunto – che necessita di una riflessione di ampio respiro si deve volgere anche l’attenzione alla figura dell’interprete Lis, a cui va riconosciuta l’importanza del ruolo che svolge con passione e dedizione”.
In sintonia con Grasso, è stato il messaggio inviato dal ministro dell’Istruzione, Stefania Giannini: “Nessuno può rimanere escluso in un mondo costantemente chiamato a comunicare. Gli interpreti di lingua dei segni italiana ci aiutano ogni giorno con professionalità a garantire questo diritto alla relazione con gli altri. A ognuno di loro oggi porto non solo il mio saluto, ma anche il mio incoraggiamento e il mio ringraziamento”.
Giannini ha sostenuto che “abbiamo bisogno di questi “mediatori linguistici” anche per promuovere una inclusione piena, favorendo lo studio e la diffusione della lingua LIS come se fosse la lingua di un altro Paese che vive insieme a noi. Il Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’Università e della Ricerca non farà mancare il suo impegno – ha assicurato – continuando in un dialogo sensibile con le diverse realtà che operano sul territorio nazionale.
Non saremo però solo un interlocutore attento. Siamo già un attore attivo nella progressiva trasformazione delle scuole in centri di eccellenza e nel dare risposte alle esigenze presenti”.
Per Giannini “è uno sforzo coerente con l’idea di scuola che abbiamo in mente, una scuola aperta, capace di far incontrare e integrare diversi, valorizzando le esperienze, le competenze e i talenti di ognuno”.
